Open Positions:

REAL ESTATE SERVICING SPECIALIST
This position is responsible for preserving the assets and financial stability of the Credit Union by controlling/reducing delinquency and minimizing loss severity by operating within defined collections policy and procedures.  It is also responsible for mitigating potential losses through negotiation and alternative methods of restructuring of liabilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain full responsibility for the review, work and resolution of all delinquent real estate secured loans.   Determine appropriate collection actions by analyzing the financial situation of the member and/or the severity of the delinquency.  Attempt to contact delinquent account holders by phone, letter dunning, skip tracing and review of mortgage files as needed.  Adhere to internal departmental procedures, productivity standards and workflow processes.  Contribute to departmental and team goals and support current business priorities.
• Advise members on avenues available to restructure their loans if warranted. Offer approved remedies, if appropriate, to bring accounts to a current status with an emphasis on account resolution.  Escalates appropriate action to be taken if account is deemed uncollectible.  
• Interact daily with internal and external sources to obtain, verify and/or provide information required for loss mitigation efforts, such as contact with the servicing vendor and mortgage insurance companies. Assist in maintaining the disposal of REO properties. 
• Prepare daily, weekly and/or monthly reports on loan activity.
• Prepare and forward accounts for legal placement in a timely and cost effective manner. 
• Inform management of trends relative to loan originations and or collection efforts contributing to potential losses. Refer accounts to appropriate queues, collection staff or management when required (bankruptcy, asset management, legal, etc.).
• Meet or exceed the Credit Union’s delinquency and loss goals on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Ensure that all collection activity complies with and is conducted with Federal, State and Local guidelines (FDCPA, FCRA, Truth-in Lending, etc.)
• Comply with attendance guidelines in accordance with the Credit Union's policies. 
• Perfom other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 3-6 years of collection experience.  
• Experience in collection of real estate or secured obligations, or related experience.  
• College education desired, or equivalent work experience.   
• Strong negotiation skills. 
• Ability to prioritize daily work volumes and exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid PC skills with Microsoft applications.
• Strong sense of personal accountability with proven ability to learn quickly and retain knowledge while completing work accurately and efficiently. 

DEFAULT SPECIALIST
This position is responsible for preserving the assets and financial stability of the Credit Union by controlling/reducing delinquency and minimizing loss severity, operating within defined collections policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Maintain full responsibility for the review and work of delinquent accounts over 60 days past due to determine appropriate collection actions.  
• Analyze the financial situation and attempt to contact delinquent account holders by phone and/or letter dunning.
• Perform extensive skip tracing activities as needed in order to contact the member. 
• Adhere to internal departmental procedures, productivity standards and workflow processes.  Contribute to departmental and team goals and support current business priorities.
• Advise members on avenues available to restructure their loans if warranted.  Educate the members of the actions available to the Credit Union to collect this obligation and take appropriate action to bring current, with added emphasis on account resolution.
• Maintain daily interaction with external sources to obtain, verify and/or provide information required for loss mitigation efforts.
• Prepare daily, weekly and/or monthly reports on collection activity.
• Prepare accounts for legal placement in a timely and cost effective manner, and other duties as assigned.
• Inform management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged off loans.
• Meet or exceed the Credit Union’s delinquency and loss goals on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Meet or exceed the minimum performance expectations for effectiveness, efficiency and quality. 
• Ensure that all collection activity complies with and is conducted with Federal, State and Local guidelines (FDCPA, FCRA, Truth-in Lending, etc.)
• Advise management of operational issues impacting the Credit Union’s collection activities. 
• Complete assignments accurately and within the time frames stated.
• Comply with the Credit Union service standards.
• Understand the Credit Union’s mission, products and services offered and expectations of members.
• Work efficiently through the use of technology and automation of processes and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of 3-5 years of collection experience dealing with late stage delinquency.  Must have experience in collection of collateralized or secured obligations. 
• Bachelor degree desired, or equivalent work experience.
• Trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
•  Work involves extensive contact with others on a personal or sensitive nature. 
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet monthly deadlines.  May involve motivating or influencing others.  Contacts outside of the Credit Union may be necessary, requiring a refined communication style and knowledge of appropriate business protocol.
• Must have good negotiation, communication and organization skills.
• PC skills with Microsoft applications.
• Must possess ability to prioritize daily work volumes

• Strong sense of personal accountability with proven ability to learn quickly and retain knowledge while completing work accurately and efficiently. 
• Ability to interact with others in a positive manner in person or by phone. 

PART-TIME TELLERS – AURORA, LAKEWOOD, CHERRY CREEK & ARVADA
This position is responsible for processing member (and shared branch) account requests including deposits, cash withdrawals, transfers, teller checks, cashier’s checks, loan payments, account balances, loan advances, and account history. 20-25 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintains cash controls and balances drawer daily.
• Prepares daily teller work to ensure accurate posting of transactions.
• Assists members with basic account reconciliation and problem resolution.
• Provides information to members about credit union products and services, including savings options, rates, available loans, and convenience services.
• Performs all duties in accordance with department and credit union policies and procedures, and answers members’ questions about them.
• Collects required documentation and signatures from members to comply with all laws and regulations.
• Consistently demonstrates credit union service standards, providing a level of service that is recognized by members as exceptional.
• Actively works to assist the branch to reach its goals and participates fully in branch and credit union sales tactics.
• Demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Westerra Credit Union in all dealings with employees, members and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous credit union or financial institution experience
• Cash handling experience
• Attention to detail
• Computer literate in a Windows environment
• Customer service and sales experience


MORTGAGE LOAN PROCESSOR

This position is responsible for setting up and processing mortgage loans.  Areas of specialty include, but are not limited to, receiving and completing applications, ordering and reviewing pertinent information (i.e. credit reports, appraisals, title policies, etc.). Additionally responsible for submitting a complete loan package for underwriting and final approval.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Set up the loan (order credit bureau, appraisal, flood and title company services), and gather any additional information required for loan approval.  Prepare loan for underwriting insuring that ratios meet company requirements.  Ensure that loan submissions are complete and  follow up on any missing information or documents.
• Answer mortgage questions from members via the telephone, pre-qualify and relay payment information to prospective borrowers.  Greet members and respond to questions and concerns while providing superior member service.
• Help members to complete loan applications while they are in the office and/or over the telephone in an effort to expedite the loan approval process.
• Back up front desk coverage and HELOC &  second mortgage loan closing.
• Back up Mortgage Servicing Specialist II.
• Assist with HMDA processing and maintain timely/accurate HMDA compliance reporting.
• Perform duties according to established department policies and adhere to Credit Union procedures. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma
• Associate degree in business desired, or equivalent in experience
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Member service skills
• Working knowledge of mortgage lending and consumer loans desired
• Basic math and computer skills


FINANCIAL SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE-CONTACT CENTER – LOWRY
This position provides superior member service to Credit Union members, including opening and closing accounts, making corrections to accounts and reconciling Credit Union statements via the telephone.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Processes member financial requests including establishing new member relationships; online banking, eStatement and bill pay set-ups; research requests; stop payments; wire transfers and monetary transactions.
• Identifies the financial needs of new and existing members through open-ended interviewing techniques and utilizes tools (e.g. the credit bureau) to identify appropriate products and services for each member.  Presents appropriate features and benefits, and explains Westerra products and services to meet identified needs.  Asks for action and closes or refers (“cross sells”).
• Performs all duties in accordance with department and credit union policies and procedures.
• Collects required documentation and signatures from members to comply with all laws and regulations.
• Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed.
• Answers questions and solves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers and reporting results.
• Consistently demonstrates credit union service standards, providing a level of service that is recognized by members as exceptional.
• Actively works to assist the branch to reach its goals and participates fully in branch and credit union sales tactics.
• Demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Westerra Credit Union in all dealings with employees, members and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Sales Aptitude / Cross-selling skills / multi-tasking
• Handle high call volume
• Good verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented, strong organizational skills and initiative
• Basic computer knowledge
• 1-2 year(s) customer/member service skills preferred
• Banking or credit union experience preferred
