Westerra Credit Union goes back a long ways. My credit union history goes back to 1960, when I went to work for Safeway Stores, Inc. I even remember they had a branch office downtown at that time. My father also had been with the credit union for many years prior to 1960 as a produce manager for Safeway. Growing up, I can recall him financing many a car through the credit union. He would just get one car paid for and the next thing we knew he would be driving home in another new one. My mother was not very happy with him at these times for buying a new car. I seem to have followed in his footsteps by buying new cars with the credit union. Now that I am retired and older I have slowed up on this practice, but I may still buy a new car or two through the credit union in the future. I now use the credit union for financial security. I have a checking account, savings account, and three CDs. I am thankful for having the credit union all these years, and the many friends associated with it.

More and more lately, as I listen to the news about what credit card companies are doing to their customers by arbitrarily raising interest rates, changing credit limits, and cancelling accounts, etc., it makes me appreciate how Westerra CU treats us with respect by not subscribing to these practices. I can trust that my agreements with the credit union will be honored.

Westerra CU makes my life easier by being easy to use. Whether I need a loan, or want to buy a CD, it's always fast and easy without any drama. Dealing with money matters can be stressful, but Westerra staff makes it painless!

To me, Westerra means family. It's a relationship that was passed on to me by my Grandma and I've passed it on to my children. I hope they always feel the nostalgia and love I feel for my credit union.

No big deal if you live in the States but if you're a retiree abroad (like I am), you want and need the service I've found that Westerra provides.

It sends me, a retiree in the Philippines, up-to-date and accurate monthly statements which helps me keep track of my boating and sundry expenses so I don't go overboard.

I remember my mom tried so hard to get me to join the credit union but I had a credit union and never found the time to join until she passed away in October 2009. My sister and I had to settle her estate and the service we received was exceptional. The staff was knowledgeable, accommodating, kind, and caring. There was no waiting in line. We were seen right away. They knew exactly what to do in our case. Another banking institution gave us the run around, we waited around to see this person and that person and it took all day. One day I left in tears. You don't know how nice it was to receive such great service from the employees at Westerra Credit Union during that time. As far as me and my family, we will be lifetime members. Lesson learned. Mom is always right.
