Douglas County Schools Recognizes Westerra as Community Partner of the Year - The Douglas County Schools Educational Foundation recognized Westerra Credit Union as Community Partner of the Year at the District's 2017 Apple Awards celebration on May 4 at the Douglas County Events Center in Castle Rock. The District said they selected Westerra for the many ways the credit union helps students and the community learn beyond the walls of the school—encouraging involvement in Special Olympics, engaging students in classroom presentations, furthering financial education through the credit union's $52.80 fundraising program, and providing grants to help schools meet their specific needs. Semple Recognized with Lifetime Achievement Award - The National School Boards Association’s Council of School Attorneys (COSA) presented the prestigious national Lifetime Achievement Award to Martin Semple on March 24 at the general session of their 2017 School Law Seminar in Denver, Colorado.
