Jeffco Public Schools Grant Recipients

The Westerra Credit Union School Grant Program strives to enhance students’ learning experiences by providing for items such as art supplies, sports fees and equipment, after school programs, workbooks or other programs your school determines most beneficial.  For the 2013-2014 school year, Westerra awarded grants to 27 Jeffco schools for a total of $16,880.  These schools received grants of approximately $400-$700 each: 

Chatfield Senior High School – Three SimpleGen Classroom Packs for Science classes
Columbine Senior High School – Smart Board for Special Education department
Conifer High School – Sound amplification system for Chemistry lab
Excel Academy Charter School – Motivational speaker for challenged youth
Foster Elementary – Team jerseys for after school soccer program
Governor's Ranch Elementary – Positive behavior incentives
Green Mountain High School – Filming equipment for swimmers and divers to improve performance
Jeffco's 21st Century Virtual Academy – Educational field trips to learn outside of virtual classrooms
Kullerstrand Elementary – Sensory room items for students with significant emotional, behavioral, and sensory needs
Lasley Elementary – Positive behavior incentives
Mandalay Middle School – Reading Improvement Program
Mitchell Elementary – Supplies for after school English club for new international students
Mount View Detention Center – Funding for motivational speakers with extraordinary life experiences
Normandy Elementary – Positive behavior incentives that support state standards for personal finance
Oberon Middle School – Three Google Chromebooks for students without availability of home device
O'Connell Middle School – Positive behavior incentives
Peck Elementary – Field trip transportation for Challenge program students
Pomona High School – Assistive communication devices for students with severe special needs
Semper Elementary – Three Chroma Harps
Shaffer Elementary – Rachel's Challenge positive behavior program
Stein Elementary – Six sets of Remo Fiberskyn hand drums
Vivian Elementary – Transportation and materials for after school tutoring and for the garden, drama and community service clubs
Warder Elementary – Positive behavior incentives
Wayne Carle Middle School – Seven sewing machines
Weber Elementary – Positive behavior incentives
Westridge Elementary – Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing-2 to assess learning needs
Witt Elementary – Technology aids, manipulatives, sensory aids, and math and writing tools for students with moderate to severe limited intellectual capacity
