Vista PEAK Honors Westerra’s Aurora Branch
Westerra was recognized as Community Partner of the Year by Vista PEAK Exploratory School at a special presentation on Wednesday, May 24. Vista PEAK selected Westerra for this honor to recognize the many ways the Aurora City Place Branch has been involved in supporting the students, families and teachers at the school. While serving on the school’s PTSA during the 2015-2016 school year, Branch Manager Jaye Plough learned about many items the school needed, and looked for ways Westerra could help.
- Westerra purchased Translator Headsets for Vista PEAK. There were only two in the District which were shared among all schools. With Westerra's donation, the school was able to provide headsets for non-English speaking parents to participate in assemblies and in special ceremonies. The headsets provide translations in more than ten languages.
- The school received a grant from Westerra to purchase tools and supplies for their community garden.
- Westerra contributed gift baskets for teacher appreciation and sponsored the school’s Sweetheart Dance, Sweet Street, Color Run and other activities.
