My passion is serving others. As an occupational therapist for DPS, I serve students with special needs. Not only those students, but their teachers, peers, staff, and families. My goal is to help students succeed through, around, and in spite of their challenges. As a wife and mother, I serve my family, raising my sons to be God fearing, productive members of their world, giving back from their talents and gifts. As a woman, I seek to serve those all around me, at work, at home, in my community and anyone God puts in front of me each day.
I grew up in Michigan, with traditional Midwest roots. I graduated from Western Michigan University, majoring in occupational therapy. I worked two years in Muskegon, Michigan, with severely handicapped students. I moved to Appleton, Wisconsin and worked over three years in schools, home care and inpatient hospital work. Looking for adventure, I moved to Fort Collins and got my Master of Science in OT in 1985. By the. I had fallen in love with Colorado and signed on with Denver Public Schools, and moved to Denver. I met my husband in 1987. We married in 1989 and had our two boys, David and Curtis. Now, the boys are both at CSU, and we are empty nesters! I still work for DPS, as well as pursuing my love of sewing, golfing, reading and traveling.
