As a single mom of four little ones, I worked several jobs (day care, teacher assistant at the local elementary school, cake decorator, and professional clown and face painter) while obtaining my bachelor’s degree and teacher license through Metropolitan State College. Although I've lived paycheck to paycheck through all these years, I am now a homeowner of six years, have been able to financially support my children through college, paid for my master’s degree without taking loans, helped with wedding costs for my kids, am slowly paying down debt, and look forward now to saving for my retirement. I always felt my meager funds were safe in the hands of a credit union, overseen by its members. Even though we had little money, we always felt like members of a community of financially solid citizens. Thank you Westerra!
